its a crazy world! note that there were NO airliners used as weapons on 9/11/2001, laws of physics PROVE beyond any doubt that it would have been impossible to have planes crash in such a manner.
I think it is the 24/7 'news' - newspapers, tv, radio, online media - all pumping out the same propaganda. Because they ALL say the same thing, ALL the time. Unless you know it's propaganda, like us - so our minds reject it - sheep people are literally brainwashed with the repetition.
The reason I think this is that so many people have repeated to me (even the lady designing the kitchen for my new house - what??!!) the incoherent view that the problems with the UK economy are Trump's tariffs. Since when did anybody who wasn't an economist take any notice whatsoever of trade tariffs. The MSM however have pumped this out RELENTLESSLY - so suddenly everybody's an economic analyst, pronouncing that the UK economy is in trouble because 'Trump tariffs'.
They cannot join up their thinking though - they cannot explain how a very RECENT imposition of an import duty on goods we export to the USA from the UK is the reason our economy has been tanking for months. I even think they get imports and exports muddled up - they are all effing insane.
Yep. Now everyone is an economic analyst. Same thing happened during the "covid pandemic". People who previously did not have the faintest idea about what was an epidemic, a virus, or a pcr... were suddenly preaching opinions about the "pandemic".
I understand hate as the fight-or-flight response that correlates to the impulsive, or fast, thinking in the dual-process model of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thinking,_Fast_and_Slow Fast thinking sacrifices accuracy for speed and slow thinking sacrifices speed for accuracy. Both have survival advantage, but it's maladaptive to use the adrenal biochemistry of a threat-response reaction unless time pressure justifies the loss of accuracy. I notice far more adaptive presentations in slow, rather than fast, thinking. So time-permitting, I practice watching for later presentations before acting on impulse.
Sorry to read that you were de-friended on Facebook by a 40-year friend. I've heard several reports of similar behavior, e.g., from Alan Dershowitz and others I find reasonable. I explain that as how people who might share values can be divided by what reports they credit, i.e., people can be programmed like machines.
When people unconsciously realize they have erred, they can correct or, to defend an illusion of godlike omniscience, they can resort to denial, e.g., by preferring reports that reinforce their self-concept. I suspect that helps explain confirmation bias.
Quite interesting. Physical reality is so dicey anyway, so subject to subjective interpretation, i.e., a "story," that can be different from person to person...couple's therapists see this in action all of the time. "He said/She said"...
I had actually never heard of folie à deux, until your post...quite fascinating.
omg you are so right on. Electric cars good,.....electric cars bad. I saw a sticker on a tesla yesterday that said "heh...I bought this before Elon went insane". The world has gone insane and I so appreciate Shrew Views. Thanks.
Another spot on article, Todd - thank you! Great comments, too. My “educated” sheep neighbors and acquaintances all reflect the exact behaviors you cite and for the most part I’ve completely given up trying to engage them in discussions any deeper than the weather or what they’ve been doing lately. However every so often I can’t help but to gently poke them with a small-talk question (not pointed) about the vaccine, covid, chemtrails, Elon, illegals. The results are always the same. They don’t seem to want to talk about it because they change the subject quickly. I can't determine if they don’t care about these things or if they’re deliberately tuning out all the really critical (to me) events of today. To clarify I’ve never preached or ranted to any of these folks, but I have asked them a lot a questions about their opinions on things. Generally we were not in agreement but at least we could talk about them. Now we don’t. And yes, most of them do appear to hate Trump but even that they pretty much don’t elaborate on. I might add I know for a fact these folks are all vaxed (because they all bragged about it at the time) whereas I am not. Could the vax be a factor for the bizarre behaviors we’re witnessing?
I am a pretty firm believer that the vax has something to do with the mental decline we are seeing. Whatever it was that put people in the mental state that compelled them to get vaxxed in the first place, I am not sure. I think the whole human race has been brainwashed into certain ways of thinking (or not thinking) that has been going on for decades. However, I do believe the vax has just added insult to injury.
What you describe is exactly what most of us are experiencing. As I say in my article, these people ARE capable of caring...but they "care" very selectively and only about the things the agenda has told them to care about.
There is a great scene in Orwell's "1984" where they have "hate day" (or whatever they call it) and everyone gathers in an auditorium to spew hate towards whatever Big Brother has told them to hate. They really don't know WHY they are supposed to hate whatever it is.
If you ask a Trump hater what they hate about Trump it will be one or more of these reasons: "he is ugly" "he has weird hair" "I hate his mouth" "he is a misogynist," "he is a racist" "he is a narcissist" "he put tariffs on Canada"...they can't tell you much about any of these things except "he once said he grabs women by the pussy" or "he said the Nazi white supremacists were 'good people'" Stuff like that. If you push for more information, they can't come up with it, although there ARE compelling reasons for some of these assessments, most people do not know what they are, and if they do, it is only what the propaganda mill has told them.
People are afraid and that makes them very strange. All I do is watch the madness. Eventually with all the issues out there it becomes overwhelming. Which, I suppose, is the point...
Yes, it IS the point. I think the Covid drive by the agenda was definitely designed to create fear. That is why I know if they did it again, all of the people who are no longer fearful will just slip right back into being terrified.
I DO think people are afraid of things happening in the future that will make them fearful—like a nuclear war, economic hardship, climate change, etc. But I don't think most of these people really know much about those things...and they are told by the mass media why they should fear these things coming in the future...obviously caused by Trump, Putin, and stupid shrews.
As you suggest in your article, I believe it is not a matter of whether shrews care and sheep don't... It seems a matter of what it is that people care (or are scared) about. Sheep do not seem to care about some important things you mention (personal liberties, critical thinking...), but they seem to be scared about a lot of things, and would try to convince you that the world is about to end, but because of things like: (1) a completely new "virus" that will cause the worst "pandemic", unless we all comply and get "vaccinated" with an experimental substance... or (2) the percentage of CO2 in the atmosphere will increase from 0.4% to 0.5% and we will all die unless we all buy Teslas... or, take that back, because Teslas are built by Elon Musk... or we may need to go and live in Mars, with an atmosphere 95% CO2... or take that back, because that was Elon Musk's idea too... or (3) the temperature of the Earth will increase in average by 1 degree C; which means that all of us will fry to death, unless we all go and live in Venus, which has an average temperature of several hundred degrees C...
Sheep also believe the world is coming to an end, but for different reasons.
Yes, exactly. I wrote an article a while back titled "For All the Wrong Reasons" (or something like that). That basically states sheep are concerned about the same things (or same results) we are, but for all of the wrong reasons!
I ponder these issues every moment of my day ! I think there are certain ( sheep) folks who don’t care but others who at some level have an appreciation for the truth but can’t handle any acknowledgement of what is in front of them . I long for some semblance of critical((independent ) thinking …pre plandemic there was some semblance of this .
Yes, I still believe there WAS a time where MOST people had some common sense about them. People USED to debate, discuss, and even argue about differences...and most people knew facts about their position. None of that is happening now.
it's almost like for thousands of years a violent ruling class of leeches has learned that you need to divide people in order to control them. but that's bat-shit crazy and an assault on democracy or god. same thing really.
Well the last time Trump was President it was the same thing, the relentless badgering no matter what he did or said. This time around ‘they’ want to make sure everyone hates him, well as many as possible. He definitely does and says some questionable things but so has every President and Prime Minister (look at Trudeau’s record). However what is more bizarre is how crazy the Trump haters have become. And your Facebook friend speaks volumes for the many sheep out there. It is like 3/4 of the people are taking crazy pills. For many of us who are stepping back to observe this phenomenon, it reminds us of the ‘job’ they did selling us on covid fear only now it is Trump/US fear. In Canada it seems cool to wrap yourself in a Canada flag where just 3 years ago those of us who carried the flag were extremists. You can thank the government and the delusional mainstream media for this over-the-top behaviour, once again. Don’t kid yourself: they know exactly what they are intending as a consequence. What next, say us shrews?
It is difficult to understand the mind virus that has infected society, because you can't point to a single event. It has been gradual. Maybe it's just called modern life. Shrews fight to keep their intellectual immune system healthy, but sheep have given up the fight. An old proverb describes sheep spending their lives being afraid of the wolf, only to be eaten by the shepherd.
On one hand we could say it is just "modern life"...I used to think that...but now I am convinced there is a malicious intention behind it...only I am not sure if that intent is coming from evil humans, lizards, or satan himself.
hey you ungrateful slave. you get to choose whether you get eaten by the wolf or the shepherd. people died for the choice!!!! (cue the music and pieces of cloth flapping in the breeze)
Excellent! The military-grade campaign against sense-making runs unabated. Fun to watch, except someday it won’t be.
I think about that often.
its a crazy world! note that there were NO airliners used as weapons on 9/11/2001, laws of physics PROVE beyond any doubt that it would have been impossible to have planes crash in such a manner.
Holograms?
Really, you can know what something ISN'T without having to define what it is.
speculation as to HOW it may have been done, in no way negates the fact that the alleged crash events constitute violations of the laws of physics.
Got it.

I imagine that many people prioritize maintaining friendships by accepting a https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folie_%C3%A0_deux Inept as I am, I do better with silence than duplicity.

Yes, I believe you are correct, Sylvia. It is the point but we still can't let them overwhelm us, because then we become the ones who don't care.

They certainly do know...they are masters at psychological manipulation, but apparently that isn't saying much since humans are so easily manipulated.
It is quite amazing how one behavior even three weeks ago was totally denigrated, but today is "the thing" to do...
