Hey Shrew Friends….I just wanted to put it out there that Mattias Desmet is releasing a book in a few weeks (available for pre-order now) titled The Psychology of Totalitarism (get it on Amazon, or Bookstore.org.). I have been given a copy to read and will be writing a formal review of the book before its official release. So far it is an amazing book! I am so excited to finish reading it. Right from the beginning of this Covid circus I have been astounded how readily the general population has hung onto this mainstream narrative as the end all for public health, medicine, science, and how we are supposed to behave as human beings (being told who is deplorable, selfish, terrorists, etc.) I described the phenomenon as a form of “cult psychology” but I could not reconcile cult psychology affecting billions of people without all the criteria for an actual cult (many criteria ARE met, but some of the key ones are not.)
Desmet explains how all this works in this new book, and it really does answer a lot of questions.
Go pre order the book! But before you get it, how about starting a discussion regarding this idea of “mass formation psychosis”…what do YOU think is causing this very odd disconnection with reality. Sure, fear is a part of the “set up”…but is that all there is to it? Is it the vaccine that fries part of the brain, or 5G that is doing the same thing. Is it in the water as Ardis believes it is? What is it that seems to be basically causing people to leave their senses?
I am so confused about what has been happening these last years. Good friends of mine…whom I have known for years and years are behaving so differently. They were the ones I connected with to discuss current happenings…and it was fun. All of sudden…no discussions, but a wall coming up when a certain subject was mentioned (ie. covid, lockdowns, masks and the vaccines). I do not think it is my business to try and convince anyone of anything…all I want is a friendly DISCUSSION. It feels like something unnatural has happened. It is very alarming. (I must quickly add that not all my friends have reacted this way, but many).
Information is supposed to make us feel empowered. That is how we are conditioned from the day we are sent to school. It later transforms into getting information from media outlets etc. Identity, self=esteem and one's purpose of life flow from and are shaped by a great degree from this absorption of information.
Always, the control of this narrative has been in hands of powerful sponsors such as kings, rulers, or people who wish to shape the lives of others.
This is where our primeval desires, mentioned above, lose track of what is the objective of narrative flow.
The people in control of material world give the narrative an altruistic shade and the majority buys it.
This is the plain and simple modus operandi of the centers of power which results in "cult psychology" that is being examined.
I now have the book you are referring to and am waiting on the edge of my seat for your review of such...

This is a non-psychology person comment --
