Loved your references to so many books and articles Tood, but really loved your reference to "Little Red Hen... "who will help me plant the seeds... not I said the duck, not I said the cow, dog, cat etc etc. and the little red hen planted them herself to "who will help me eat the bread?" when all the animals said "I will" but the little red hen said "No! I will" and ate it all herself!
Again, how I wish I could refute your thesis - but I think you are smack on. The worst is yet to come. Here is one tiny ray of hope - when it feels like nobody around us shares our concerns or worries, take a look at this little clip about the globalists: WE MOVE AS ONE.
Yes, I watched that when you sent me the text link. Yes, it IS encouraging. We need to constantly be reminded of that, isolation is the killer...remember when Rogers went out a few weeks ago? I think that jangled me up and frightened me more than anything that has happened...
… some time early this year” higher “politics powers” or who-ever -,were ready for a war, covid subject was released - so people wont protest against the war generally….and people were told to support the war by being engaged into ridiculous social help/ …countries were sending weapons to ukraine but banning a luxurious food for bad russia - no one was protesting against WAR - looks like it was a choice ? more covid or a war? Anyway war still goes on, people are use to it so media has to sent some scary news about other sickness … well monkeypox is not killing people same way as covid, so they invent other kind of covid and in meantime pushing on injecting shit into little kids (did parents gave up?? Probably the vaccinated yes, others losing minds cause life is more and more uncomfortable…. ?) Soon another war will burst ( china is just waiting ….) to take over current one and other events will take a place….. we are in between epochs - are we dinosaurs 🦕 will we extinct or go through a portal to a better life ? For now still survival!
I don't think any government will say much against war itself, until there is no war going on at the moment they are involved in in some way. They have to take a side, so war is only wrong if it is the "other side"...it is interesting how Putin's war is wrong because the West can say it is an unprovoked aggression. And if so, then blasting the crap out of Russian troops is perfectly fine and encouraged.
Todd I have been enjoying reading your Substack. I especially like your farming metaphor today - very eerily evocative of the evil all around us. I have been feeling great feelings of foreboding lately and wrestling with myself about how prepared to be if things get very dark. Eyes open is better than eyes closed, in the end. I guess I want to be that hen. I also wish I didn’t have to be.
I hear you man...it is a very strange time...a strange time regarding emotions, ethics, spiritual stirrings, etc. Unprecedented.
I am not necessarily a fan of being prepared...for me...I am old, and if this thing gets as bad as it looks like it might, the most I may do to survive is find a cave somewhere and wait. If a person is young, has a family, of course do everything you can to survive, plant food, get together with community to create something that will allow you to survive...I don't think about that much. If people close to me die, I doubt if I will have much of a will to live. We'll see. I would rather not think too much about that...but again, I DO believe good will prevail. We do need people of our thinking to make it through this. I have clients tell me they no longer want to have kids because they don't want to bring a child into this world...if they give up on that dream, then there will be nothing left. None of this can do that...in my humble opinion...
Anyway...hang in there...I do believe there will be a job for us, even the old folks like me, I will gladly accept whatever that is, even if it is to perish to make room for others who will lead the way into the new world (not new world ORDER!!)
And then again...it may never reach that sort of darkness. We may learn our lesson before the world has to be destroyed to convince us something is amiss...greed, consumerism, trans humanism, loss of a spiritual center...etc.
Excellent discourse Todd, thank you, but I would be surprised if many take notice and prepare. Your fairy story reminded be of the age-old fable of the grasshopper and the ant. Germany might be the grasshopper but who will be the ant?
Yes, I almost chose the grasshopper and the ant as my analogy but settled on the chicken story. The ant story kind of smacked of communism to me...the chicken story's ending, when the hen did not share, was the masterstroke!
If German is the grasshopper, who is the ant? How has Germany been lazy?
Not really lazy Todd but rather failing to perceive likely future trends as almost certain of you tie yourself to another's resources without a fall-back plan. The old adage that if something can go wrong then one day it will go wrong. Murphy's law has always been uppermost in my mind over the years.
Thank you! Yes, my sister, who taught K/1 for many years, informed me "The Little Red Hen" was still a popular story with little kids...and she too told me it ended the way I remember! I was actually pleased with that because I agree with you!! That story is probably now "cancelled" in first grade because the hen did not share...it would probably also be considered racist. THANK YOU for your comment!!!!
I agree with everything you say here. I think, for whatever reason, I am taking the "leader of the charge" stance here (not that I am a leader, but just that I seem to not be one to say to the troops, "it's all going to be ok, just relax now.")
I am a very spiritual person, and I without doubt believe that good and love will prevail. But I also am not naive enough to think that good will take a bit of time to conquer evil. AND there may be a "fight" of sorts involved. The people Moses was leading into the promised land got there, but he didn't. Europe was liberated from the Nazis, but millions died, and much was destroyed, and many fought, in the process.
Yes, there are many good people, many shrews, up front, AND behind the scenes. This WILL break. But, and this is me that thinks this, I may be wrong, I believe we have not gotten to the point where we can relax and let our guard down.
I have also always wondered if they are making a very strange world for themselves (if most of the compliant sheep succumb to their efforts). The majority of what is left will be the non compliant, the rebels, the subversives that see "them" as the mortal enemy. I can't imagine that that will be a good thing for them!!!
Carry on sister...thanks for your most welcome comments!
When we go sailing, My Dad has always marvels at the size of the ocean. He likes to say 'Look at all that water!. And that's just the top of it.'
Be the chicken.
