Did my use of the word "ass" offend anyone? I have had a rash of UNSUBSCRIBES since the article went out!! I thought "ass" was an acceptable word to us...???

I think it is very odd that no one is commenting on this article...maybe it sucked...but the topic seems to be very powerfully in the news these days with all of the democratic/socialist elections being won...???

I didn’t receive this article until today and trust me, I’m online about 8 hours a day every day and I was wondering why no article from you. Maybe that’s why no comments? Anyway, another right on target commentary, thank you, Todd. I fear the USA is traveling down a very dark path and I personally believe it’s because our elections are still being stolen. Nothing has been done to stop the cheating and I believe also it’s all by design. I cannot believe the majority elected this blatant communist even if NYC is mostly liberal nutcases. In any event I must say once again I’m glad I’m old and won’t be here to witness the total collapse of our once great country. I do believe Islam will rule the entire world. Our young people are truly lost. It’s heartbreaking.

So you didn't get the email when the article went out on Thursday? That's weird...sorry about that...will comment on your comment when I am sitting down...

No, I did not receive this article on Thursday or yesterday, it arrived today. And I was on my Gmail both days because I expect your articles twice a week, and I also ordered something online Friday and was looking for the confirmation. Also I might add that occasionally your articles go to promotions rather than primary (emails) so I have to look there if I don’t receive them the usual way. I blame Google, not you

Very odd. Needless to say, I have nothing to do with how the substack servers work, I just have to trust they do what they do accurately...apparently they don't...

Yes. Democracy means democrats rule. Which means producing little to nothing and getting those that produce to pay for it.

Absolutely on all points ! It is a huge mistake to rely on governments to manage anything efficiently or cost effectively, let alone the supply chain. At best it’s an issue of competence at worst a tool of control . The government of Canada’s Phoenix Payroll system ……

It is interesting how the very idea of communism is "state-owned, state-run"...socialists, and even democrats, don't seem to believe this. Of course, democratic socialism, which is the popular flavour of US socialism, believes that the people can own the state. They may set out with this intention, but ultimately it is impossible to achieve.

Democracy appears to be in the eye of the beholder these days.

Redefine the word, any word, to fit the narrative.

The phrase "Oh, when will they ever learn?" comes from the anti-war folk song "Where Have All the Flowers Gone?" by Pete Seeger. It serves as a plea for humanity to stop repeating the cycle of war by questioning when people will learn from the past to avoid making the same mistakes. The song's lyrics describe a cyclical pattern, starting with flowers picked by young girls, who then marry young men who become soldiers, and ultimately end up in graveyards, with the cycle repeating itself. (above is AI generated) Humanity repeats every mistake - war, elections, banking, etc.

Love that song...and no, humans will never learn, because basically they have to relearn everything every generation. There is some overlap, but that doesn't guarantee anything positive.
