I stay on FB because I get a lot of material there for my articles. This article is an example. While tooling around the ol’ FB neighbourhood I ran across a post from a multi-vaxxed “friend” (I actually do not know this guy very well, nice person though, but still a sheep). This post has nothing to do with Covid, vaccines, or masks. It went like this:
Apparently, he was on a plane preparing to wing his way down to Florida for a few weeks in the sun (no, he is not Canadian). There was a rather large snowstorm in the area (no idea what the storm’s name was, but I am sure it had one—easier to fear something if it has a name). Although all passengers were told the flight was not delayed when they boarded, it didn’t turn out that way. As we all know, if it is snowing on the tarmac, you are going to have to sit through de-icing. I have no complaint about this per se. I would rather not take the chance of the plane crashing with heavy, ice-laden wings. But the delay still annoys me.
It seemed the passengers on this flight were also rather nonchalant about the whole affair. For three hours they waited, and no one stood up and threatened to blow the plane up for the wait. Everyone sat around patiently waiting for the de-icing event to be completed. No one seemed angry, no one had a discouraging word to say. According to the agreeable guy writing the FB post, everyone was so “nice,” so complacent, so accommodating, and so compliant.
