A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

I know much of this is old news but I couldn’t help making some comments about this.

Germany’s Merkel “retired” some time in December last year and had a gala event to commemorate the occasion. People might still remember that Nuevo-Nazi vibe to the whole affair with black uniformed police/military (now around the world little difference between police and the military) brandishing flaming torches and the whole “cinema-esque” set design with ominous theatrical lighting that framed the celebratory incident. The operative word here is “ominous” and begs the question, “What the f-ck?” Germany of all places should make a very conscious effort to avoid any taste of Nazism, or even avoid any hint of “ominous”—no nation except ones with malicious intent should present themselves as ominous.

Coincidence?

Well, maybe, but what spurred this mini-article was Biden’s recent attempt to outdo his WEF compatriot Merkel with his own movie magic occasion. On September 1, 2022, Biden stepped before the cameras and crowds in Philadelphia to give a rather controversial speech on democracy, and how voting Republican would end any such thing in the United States. Behind him stood “at ease” two Marines in full dress uniform (there could have been more but the photos I have seen I could only see two). To complete the ominous setting—there’s that word again—the backdrop is Independence Hall bathed in red (and a dark foreboding blue), flanking a huge American flag hanging in the manner of Nazi flags seen in other ominous settings.

WTF?

Biden’s speech was spooky enough with his angry rhetoric and clenched fists spouting off how Americans had to do all they could to prevent any MAGA-hat wearing Republicans from any sort of government office. All the trappings surrounding this speech were obviously staged, meaning the choices in lights, flags, military men, etc. weren’t a coincidence. Some designer, responsible for dressing this whole thing, was given SOME sort of direction—what could that have been? Way back in the day I composed some of the music for the “theme park type” show called Lights of Liberty that consisted of a tour through the historic district of Philadelphia accompanied by music, narration, and quite a spectacular light show, most of it projected on the sides of the buildings, including Independence Hall. I suspect they used the existing equipment for Biden’s show but they must have changed some of the light bulbs to create such a gloomy, and menacing red and blue light. Was this also simply a coincidence? I doubt it.

So what’s up? That is hard to tell…the obvious is that this administration, as well as other administrations around the world playing this “world take over game” is setting the stage subliminally for a totalitarian regime. Long shot? Maybe its efficacy is a long shot (I doubt if the perpetrators of these displays think it is a long shot considering how successful they have been in their psychological operation) but its intention seems pretty obvious.

This is all archetypal imagery. No one really knows where it was first instilled in the human psyche that black is ominous, or red is “hell-like” (other than its association with fire and destruction). No one really knows why certain images, gestures, lighting, etc. would be considered ominous, serious, dark, or foreboding. Some of these things seem obvious, like clenched fists, or torches, but many of these psychological connections are subtle and mysterious.

I hate any sort of manipulation. I don’t mind so much if tears shown by officials due to a tragedy, or at a funeral, are sincere, and maybe anger is even more likely to be real in certain settings. But most of the time these displays of emotion are probably a bit inauthentic. Most officials and leaders are just too distant from tragedy to have authentic emotions about it. They can display what would be appropriate for such a situation—like a basically sombre presentation, but when intense emotion comes out, you will hear, “Oh come on,” from me.

What we are seeing here is typical Hollywood manipulation. Bring on the set and lighting designers. Squeeze out as much emotion as you can. Manipulate the masses. Forget that, Jack. Its not for me.

Oops again…wrong pic. Well, I am sure you will think it is unfair that I imply Biden making fists is a Nazi thing. There is nothing exclusively Nazi about making a fist when you are making a speech, probably everyone has done it at some time. But in this context: dark, military, weird lighting, speech topic, fists…it just all fits. The director of this nonsense knew his or her stuff.

Dark, foreboding, ominous…even red. Watch the movie and you’ll see there is a very similar vibe here (time’s up, it’s 1984). Big Brother/Big Biden…

Ok, ok, enough. I’m making too much of all this, right? There is no archetypal manipulation here. Someone just thought it looked cool, both Merkel and Biden. Nothing to see here, move on…hmmm. I am sure there are many more examples of this crap around the world. You would think the West would know better though, and you would particularly think Germany would know better. But hey, they’ve gotten away with this crazy movie so far, all of them have, so more power to ‘em. Keep on truckin’, you’ll be ruling the world soon enough.
